The happiness principle is all about being helpful not nice. Being nice isn’t always helpful – especially if you withhold information that people need to do their job. The great thing about the happiness principle is you actually do less work because your empower others, and you know which management techniques can apply to a particular situation because all you have to ask is, will this help this person work smarter, and get credit for it?
